!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

It’s a 1973 911e with an aftermarket turbo kit?!

Anyone know anything about the car or the build? Google isn’t turning up much. This thing’s for sale in next week’s Mecum auction in Denver.

I know that’s never how you are supposed to mount your blaster 2 coil...

I know it’s wrong in so many ways but.... I may just bid on it... Assuming it runs.

I knew it looked weird but I didn’t realize you had to mount coils vertically... or do you?

It looks like a typical MSD Blaster II. Those in particular are supposed to be mounted vertically or close to it, as per MSD. You can run them sideways but that *may* shorten their life dramatically. Running one upside down allows the oil to contact the terminals which is a big no-no, as per MSD a few years back.

The black MSD coil is epoxy filled and can be mounted in any direction from what I recall.

Ummm... well I know that it isn’t stock.

And I also know I would pay LESS for this than an original/stock 911E in excellent condition.

And I know it has Mega Bass...

Lol I’m certainly paying less than a stock 911E would go for. I’m just wondering if it falls into “why not” money or if it is more than that.

Since it’s an auction, I think you have to decide at what price “why not” money ends and “forget about it” money begins.

Considering that an original 911E in decent to mint condition goes for $45,000 to $200,000 these days, I would take that low-end figure, chop it by 75%, then round down, and that would be the maximum I would consider this to be “why not” money... as long as it comes with a valid VIN and clean title.

I figure for a maximum of $10,000, there is plenty of room to either undo the mods and bring it back to original condition and then be able to turn around and sell it for more.... OR fix anything that is hokey so it can be a decent weekend car.

I have a feeling this MIGHT sell for more that $10,000.

Yep, that was exactly my logic too. I’m already a registered bidder and will be there on Friday. We shall see what happens. Appreciate your input/validation of my thoughts lol.
